Topic: The Tabernacle of God 383
Scripture: But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say not of this building. (Heb 9:11)
Note: 2Cor 5:1, “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” Paul’s duties of unjustified arrests, torture and killing of Christians prior to his conversion, qualified him for the disingenuous title of a religious terrorist. Paul was a murderer, a persecutor, a torturer and a Judaist bigot, whose reasons and passion that energized him into such wicked acts were because he believed he was genuinely serving God. Yet, unknown to Paul, the very God that he thought he was serving with his whole being was the same God whose heart was bleeding for His people as a result of the vicious atrocities against the Church.
After the conversion of Paul, his general passion and attitude to life didn’t permit him the luxury of a honeymoon of excitement and feel good about Jesus, normally associated with folks that are born again. He went straight into the same synagogue where he had previously conducted arrests, and this time instead of the arrests for preaching Jesus and the resurrection, he became the principal figure defending Christ and justifying why the Messiah must suffer death and rise up again, proving that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God (Acts 9:20-22).
Paul’s terror comrades, the Jews who accompanied him in all his evil missions, were visibly upset that he had suddenly chosen to stab them in the back by denying the faith and defecting into the camp of the enemy. Yet to be convinced by Paul about his new revelation and newfound faith, they decided to give their former master a taste of the terror dossier they had been dishing out to the Christians (Acts 9:23). Paul understood the rules of engagement in the operations of the terror network he was involved with. His bosom friends had taken the decision to assassinate him for committing the ultimate sin of betrayal.
Terrorism is nasty, ugly, beastly in essence and very unforgiving in nature. It has a terrifying way of consuming its own perpetrators. Terrorism gives no room for reasoning with others. The targets of terror are treated as mere living carcasses who become trophies when they eventually fall to the sword of terror. Religious terrorism preexisted Paul’s era and has metamorphosed into a politico-religious monster in the modern era. This new monster is looking for political recognition and approval using a religious platform to launch its violent ideology. The ideologues of terror may lay claim to inspiration from God who knows nothing about their reasons for their dastardly acts against humanity.
Food for thought: Terrorism exudes horror and evil. It’s a threat against the peace of humanity and civilization. It’s unequivocally satanic in nature.
Declaration: And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him. Acts 9:23
