Topic: The Tabernacle of God 394

Scripture: But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say not of this building. (Heb 9:11)

Note: Matt 16:18, “And I say also to you, You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Were for the Church to be built on the frailty of man then arguments could be adduced to back the possibility of the Church crumbling under the force of hell and satanic power. Aside the foundation which is Christ Himself, Jesus gave sufficient indication that the concept of the Church wasn’t man’s idea, but an unfolding of the revelation that was hidden in the bosom of the Father.

The widespread knowledge in structural engineering that any building that’s anchored upon a solid rock as its foundation, is able to survive the weirdest of raging storm against the building was first cited by Jesus Christ. Jesus spoke of the wise builder who built his house upon a rock as against another builder who anchored his foundation on sand. The end result was disaster when storms arose against them. It was only the building that had its foundation anchored solidly on a rock that stood the test of time.

Building on a sand is easy, quicker and less expensive compared to building on a rock which is painful, very expensive and takes a longer time to even come out from the ground. Digging deeper to meet rock can be a very daunting task. Many people have been forced to compromise standards as a result of the pain in cost, time and trying to meet schedule. Wisdom has however, taught us that it isn’t the wisest of decisions to take the shorter route when it comes to the foundation of a building. The storms that arise against buildings are like the storms that rage from the gates of hell against the Church.

Human beings may be seen today as the main players in the administration and function of the Church. In actual fact, humans aren’t the main players in charge. Christian believers are only stewards in charge who are accountable to Christ, through whose shed blood on the cross of Calvary the Church was birthed. Jesus said, “….upon this rock I will build my church.” It’s Jesus Himself, the Chief Architect, who is building His Church. Who is man to question the function, place and authority of the Church, except such a one has the merit and clout to question the Lord.

Food for thought: The Church isn’t man’s fanciful idea to find relevance on earth, but God’s battling axe to depopulate hell.

Declaration: For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom 8:38-39
