Topic: The Tabernacle of God 374
Scripture: But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say not of this building. (Heb 9:11)
Note: 2Cor 5:1, “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” There are three effective tools in Heb 4:12, that perfectly describe the operation of the word of God in the application of discernment in our lives. These three operational tools decisively contribute to the critical role of the word of God in putting to sleep the unnecessary and unwarranted confusion surrounding the validity of the truth in the division of the soul and spirit of man.
With the passage of time and increase in knowledge among men as promised in the word of God, so also has the intensity of the error of our age seen an increased magnitude in spectacular deviations in the areas of doctrine. Men’s taste for the subliminal and our unfettered desire for increased knowledge beyond the pages of the written word, had seen both the lost and saved often groping in self-inflicted darkness of the unknown, the unapproved and untested waters of presumptions not based on Spirit inspired and Spirit revealed knowledge.
The proclivity for some believers to dangerously label the Bible as too simplistic, not deep enough and too common, have seen otherwise stable believers unfortunately getting carried away by strange doctrines, gradually slip off from safety into the steep slopes of error with reckless abandon. The three operational tools of God’s word with regard to discernment are quick, powerful and sharper than any other known tool on earth. Together, these tools contributed in deciphering the dividing partition and separation between the two invisible parts of man, which are the soul and spirit.
When Scripture talks about God’s word being ‘quick’ it brings into fore the forceful truth that it’s alive. God’s word can breathe just like any living thing. Infact God’s word is more alive than the things that humans consider to be living, because the word is able to revive a dead or dying man back to truth and faith consciousness. In being ‘powerful’ God’s word is active and demonstrates the might and omnipotence of the Triune God. As being ‘sharper’ God’s word is more decisive and comprehensive in areas of judgment and in separation between truth and error.
Food for thought: Believers that are walking in error must be suffering from a basic disconnect from God’s word.
Declaration: For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Heb 4:12
