Topic: The Tabernacle of God 373
Scripture: But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say not of this building. (Heb 9:11)
Note: 2Cor 5:1, “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” Critical questions abound concerning when Christian believers should exercise discernment, and how they can tell whether what they’re doing is the right thing or acting in error. These concerns are legitimate as the thin line between truth and error is only discernible through the right application of the inerrant word of God.
Discernment is basically the ability to decide between truth and error, or right and wrong. Heb 4:12, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Significant number of people especially within the Asian regions who happen to be adherents of other faiths aside Christianity, do not know the essential differences between the soul and the spirit of man. They often refer to these two entities as the same.
The Scriptures are very clear that there’s a dividing asunder of the soul and spirit of man. The soul and the spirit of man cannot be seen with the naked eye, and neither can they be physically touched for proof of materiality hence their confusion. There are some categories of people who will only believe things that they can feel, see, touch or that had been proved by Science. Their over-reliance on the power of commonsense and logical derivations, which are limited to one’s level of exposure to education and a heavy dose of scientific assumptions thus becomes the preserve of the elite.
Hence the less exposed and least educated become disadvantaged in their ability to rightly discern truth from error as there’s no universally acceptable standard of truth for all. However, the Scriptures which are the inspired word of God, remains the light of the world. Being the Creator of man, God is the only true authority on the configuration and constitution of man. It’s only right and sensible that any further information on any product must be referred to the original manufacturer. Holy men inspired by the Spirit of God wrote every portion of the Scriptures. God’s word thus remains the final authority in discernible judgment of right from wrong.
Food for thought: The word of God is the basic building block for all matters of truth and judgment.
Declaration: All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. 2Tim 3:16
