Prayer: Heavenly Father, may our lives extol the splendour and magnificence of God’s glory in our walk with Christ.
Note: Matthew 9:20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: 9:21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. 9:22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
Persistence in prayer and in pursuit of righteousness may not produce the kind of instant results we would have hoped for. It may take several years of keeping the faith and quietly standing up for Jesus as a shining example in order to begin yielding much fruit. But the sacrifice and persistence are worth the pursuit. No one can light a candle and put it under a bushel but on a candlestick so that it provides light to everyone that is in the house (Matthew 5:15).
God’s ultimate goal is that everyone that hasn’t seen the light of God’s salvation, commonly referred to as the Gentiles in comparison to the chosen people of God, then referred to as Israel in the Old Testament by virtue of God’s covenant relationship with Abraham, was a long term project that ultimately led to the coming of Jesus Christ to offer His shed blood as propitiation for the sin of the world. When men who wield power, influence and great wealth are in authority, such as kings, it becomes difficult for them to believe in a higher King, who is Yahweh.
Isaiah 62:2 “And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name.” People who influence societies and the destiny of many, accustomed to splendour, dignity, power, wealth and bathing in glory, shall see the higher glory of the King of kings and the Lord of lords when believers exhibit the magnificence of God’s glory which was made possible when we took on the righteousness of Christ through the miracle of the new birth.
Food for thought: There’s no better sacrifice and persistence for believers than becoming vessels for the revelation of God’s glory.
