Prayer: Heavenly Father, may we as gatekeepers be unrelenting in faithfulness and prayer.

Note: Matthew 9:20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: 9:21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. 9:22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

In every nation where there are people who call upon the name of the LORD in truth, the LORD sets gatekeepers or watchmen upon the walls, who shall never hold their peace day or night. These people may not necessarily be the most well known or popular men of God on the land that may be expected to be among those who have been set over the land. The calibre of such gatekeepers is that of unrelenting courage that knows no retreat. This was the calibre of people that Nehemiah set upon the land when the walls of Jerusalem were completed (Nehemiah 7:1-3).

Isaiah 62:6 I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, 62:7 And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth. 62:8 The LORD hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured.

Gatekeepers are unrelenting in their pursuit of God regarding what they know to be right. They have a two-pronged mandate to never let the LORD or their people down. Neither of these is compromised out of fear of man or through negative circumstances. Shiphrah and Puah were midwives who stood as gatekeepers for the sustenance of the Hebrew nation. The terror of Pharaoh failed to intimidate them into compromised genocidal action against the babies that pissed against the wall.

Food for thought: When God’s favour is with people, they that gather shall eat of the fruits of the land and offer praise to the LORD.

Declaration: But they that have gathered it shall eat it, and praise the LORD; and they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of my holiness. Isaiah 62:9
