Daily Manna – Perseverance 305

Prayer: Heavenly Father, may we never become influenced with tempting attractions of today at the expense of the nation.

Note: Matthew 9:20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: 9:21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. 9:22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

Shiphrah and Puah were the two gatekeepers that Pharaoh must necessarily go through to bring his nefarious plan of strategic genocide into fruition. As gatekeepers performing strategic functions for the nation, one could easily find herself being reduced from that of an asset to a liability. A liability of a gatekeeper would be worse off scenario in most cases than no gatekeeper at all. A liability of a gatekeeper may be one who has been compromised through corruption to allow the enemy to have an easy way.

Having no gatekeeper would rather allow for the civil authorities to have a fall back plan they can rely on. In a situation where the two midwives were to be compromised through fear of intimidation from the powerful king of Egypt, there would have been increased, significantly and consistently higher mortality rate which could easily have been explained away with professional explanations. The price of such a compromise would have witnessed future leaders like Moses falling prey to the genocidal plan of Pharaoh.

When people get compromised in their work ethics, becoming instant beneficiaries through works of negligence, corruption or selfishness, little do they know or understand that they are toying with the immediate and future safety and prosperity of the nation. Many nations have become impoverished, suffering from the evil and wicked activities of people who find themselves in strategic positions, selfishly enriching themselves at the expense of the masses as if there’s no tomorrow. The death of Moses would have been another story altogether for the Hebrew nation trapped in the pitiful slave camps of Goshen.

Food for thought: Many nations are unwittingly killing their Moses through selfish acts of corruption.

Declaration: And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses. Exodus 1:21
