Scripture: And when they saw Joseph afar off, even before he came near to them, they conspired against him to slay him. Genesis 37:18
Note: Although both Joseph and Jesus were sent by their respective fathers to their brothers and kinsmen, they both died in the course of obeying their fathers, with their robes dipped in blood. Now, Joseph didn’t die a literal death. He had his life spared through Judah’s intervention with a recommendation that brought them instant cash. Joseph’s life was exchanged for cash when he got sold into the hands of total strangers. Many misguided people are today willing to sacrifice their lives or the functionality of some essential parts of their body to the devil in exchange for quick money.
The devil and his cohorts, working in tandem with wicked human agents masquerading as Messiahs of riches against poverty, are today brainwashing the minds of our youths with filthy ideas, coercing them into making reckless and regrettable decisions to offer their lives as sacrifice for cash redemption. Unfortunately, some innocent lives get crudely terminated in this wicked enterprise of devilish half truths; either through kidnapping or by association with these wicked agents who temptingly display filthy, opulent cash to some of these victims. The commonality in all these actions is the attraction of cash in exchange for human life.
Although Joseph was sold out to Ishmaelites, incidentally, the rejected son of Abraham, who became the agent that carried him to Egypt, he was as good as dead the moment the transaction on his exchange became complete. Joseph’s brothers had to lie to their father that their brother was dead, eaten by a wild beast. To this end, Joseph’s coat of many colours was dipped in blood, as they killed a kid of the goats, whose blood was used as the evidence and coverup to convince their father, Jacob, that his son was dead (Gen 37:31).
Joseph was a prototype of Jesus Christ in the Old Testament. His coat was dipped in blood. There was shedding of blood for both Jesus and Joseph. Jesus shed His own blood for the redemption of humanity. For without the shedding of blood there is no remission for sin (Heb 9:22). The book of Revelation presented Jesus as The Faithful and True, The Judge, The Warrior and The King riding on a white horse, clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which He is called is The Word of God (Rev 19:11-13).
Food for thought: Sin can only be forgiven through the shedding of blood. This is because the life of all flesh is in the blood.
Declaration: He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood and the name by which He is called is the Word of God. Rev 19:13
