Scripture: My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. Hosea 4:6

Note: When most people are confronted with the reality of an uncertain future in the wilderness of life, it seems almost an impossibility and more of a mirage to be able to see beyond the immediate difficulties and barriers that seek to place red tapes on one’s belief system and in the ability of God to overturn what seems more of a temptation to believe the physical reality than a perceived, imagined faith in God. The courage needed to see beyond the mirage of the immediate red tapes of entrapment, and to locate the overwhelming hand of grace that’s at work seeking to enforce God’s purpose, will and good pleasure in you, becomes the key difference between you and destiny.

Both Joseph and Daniel endured torrid times in the wilderness of life in the school of the Spirit. The endurance required to survive what Joseph went through was unenviable. It began with sibling rivalry that quickly turned into hatred due to the seed of destiny that had begun speaking through the spirit man of Joseph. His senior brothers couldn’t handle what his spirit man was speaking. Joseph’s brothers didn’t understand the big picture of what God was about to do through Joseph. They didn’t know that the survival of Joseph was going to be crucial to the survival of the whole family in the future. If they had understanding of the big picture concerning the life of Joseph they would have either protected him more or had a second thought concerning the idea to kill him.

When people don’t understand your vision and purpose in life, they recklessly and unknowingly make the mistake of conspiring against what is intended by God through your life to serve as a protection for their own future survival. Such people’s spiritual maturity is normally not in sync with the level of the visions, dreams or revelations that you may be sharing with them. They feel envious, jealous and threatened by what they see as your attempt to superimpose your will over them. They will oppose you. They will fight you. They will do everything to try to abort or kill your dream.

Joseph was an unfortunate victim of wicked and dastardly machinations orchestrated by his own brothers. Even Joseph himself didn’t understand his journey into the school of the Spirit. If Joseph had had a little peep into understanding his future, he wouldn’t have feared the threat of death from his brothers. Joseph wouldn’t have honoured them by shedding miserable tears when he was violently stripped of his coat of many colours and thrown naked into an empty pit; without food and water, while his brothers feasted. The pain of lack would have been mitigated. Joseph didn’t know he was being prepared to take over the role of predators whose crooked activities stood the chance of bringing unimaginable pain, untold suffering and certain starvation and death to the rest of mankind.

Food for thought: The curriculum of your school of life determines the extent of your assignment.

Declaration: Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has shown you all this, there is none so discerning and wise as you are.” Genesis 41:39
