Scripture: My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. Hosea 4:6

Note: Most of the predators that evolve during regimes in various nations historically tried to align their importance and relevance to the political regimes of the day. Thus, their operations may seem to have tacit political approval that strategically gives credence to their operations and positions them for political favours. The desire for political clout is both a survival and protectionism approach to provide longevity to their operations. These occurrences may seem incidental to the politically naive, but they are well calculated moves that have been thoroughly thought through and executed to perfection.

The modus operandi of these political predators is the tactical use of fear as a veritable tool for controlling the minds of political leaders as well as the general populace. Fear of the unknown and the future has always been a threat to the ordinary person in the streets as well as those wielding political authority. The fear factor is effectively used to manipulate the minds of these political actors. Those in power are seeking to entrench themselves on the throne, whereas those in opposition are seeking for the mandate of the people. Meanwhile, they are afraid of losing the favour of the people and will be willing to pay their way to win at all cost.

This ideal situation creates perpetuity of a fear infested environment that’s a perfect cultural medium for mind manipulation and control by these predators who claim to either hear from God or see into the future. Their claim of ability to see into the unknown is the ideal solution that the political actors need in order to be one step ahead of their opponents. Great fortune is spent as part of the political budget used for consultation with these predatory mediums who parade themselves around as agents of God using the name of prophets. In both ways, either in political power or as in opposition, these prophets enjoy massive goodwill from both sides of the political divide.

Thus, the smart predators manage to worm their way into the hearts of the political actors. Their domain of operation is a prosperous and very rewarding role that’s highly recognised and appreciated. The magicians and the wise men in Egypt were the first to be called upon when Pharaoh’s spirit was disturbed. These days, the magicians and soothsayers have all tactically assumed the mandate of a prophet, which is a more respectable and acceptable name for our generation. Unfortunately, these tricksters have become the first point of call for the men on the throne during their moments of desperation.

Food for thought: When God’s appointed time is due, no pretentious character masquerading as an agent of God can stand in the way of God.

Declaration: And it came to pass in the morning that the spirit of Pharaoh was troubled; and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all the wise men thereof: and Pharaoh told them his dream; but there was none that could interpret them to Pharaoh. Genesis 41:8
