Topic: The Tabernacle of God 161

Scripture: But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say not of this building. (Heb 9:11)

Note: 1John 1:7, “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” At the heart of most strained relationships in a fellowship is breakdown in communication. This leaves each party groping in the dark as to what’s going on. Questions with no obvious answers begin to be raised as to what could possibly have led to the blackout in communication.

Communication is like an enclosed conduit pipe through which words together with emotional feelings of happiness and hurts, travel between two individuals. Where the relationship is a very healthy one, there’s a heavy traffic of data flow between both individuals, evoking positive emotional feelings in the process. Understanding is established and feedback messages are all correctly interpreted without any suspicion of mischievous interplay.

In this situation, whoever happens to be speaking isn’t afraid to make mistakes, s(he) trusts the other person to understand the intent of the message without any fear of recriminations or reprisals. As humans, occasional misunderstanding is to be expected. Any blip in communication flow creates a blockage in the pipeline. But because it’s a healthy relationship, the clogged pipe is swiftly cleared and normal communication is reinstated.

The results aren’t the same for relationships that are considered unhealthy. In this latter scenario, whenever differences or a misunderstanding occurs as it’s to be expected for any human relationship, the pipeline becomes constricted and clogged with negative emotional feelings of hurts, wounds and unforgiveness. The growing debris of previous communications lies in heaps along the pathway, creating heavy muted traffic where everyone is at a standstill.

Food for thought: Fellowship in the light demands that we all take responsibility for ensuring that undesirable traffic jams are promptly removed to ensure restoration of traffic flow.

Declaration: And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery which from the beginning of the world had been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ. Eph 3:9
