Topic: The empty tomb 78

Reading: Matthew 27:57-66, 28:1-15

Scripture: He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee. (Luke 24:6)

Note: The law was designed to train us up for Christ. The law had good intentions and did a fantastic job as a servant in faithfully leading us to Christ. The law taught us the rudimentary things about God. That was why when the instructions were given to Moses concerning the building of the ark, it was repeatedly mentioned that it must be constructed according to the “pattern” already existing in heaven.

Any deviation from the heavenly pattern was non negotiable and would not have been acceptable to God. Everything that went into the architectural design as well as the materials specified to be used for construction were all eternally connected. The central master plan was Jesus Christ being gradually revealed and unfolded, to be finally made complete and fulfilled with the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ.

Through the commands and commandments in the law, we are shown the need we have of the atonement and its ceremonies, which all pointed us to Christ. The one time sacrifice of Christ with the shedding of his blood, atoned for the sins of humanity, once and for all for eternity in what used to be be a yearly sacrifice of atonement with the shedding of the blood of innocent bulls and goats by the the high priest.

Jesus Christ being our High Priest eternally in heaven, being the propitiation for our sins, sits at the right hand of the Father to make continual intercession for us with his shed blood which is precious and forever fresh in the sight of God.

Food for thought: In Christ, we have an unfailing connection to the very Heart of God.

Declaration: For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereto perfect. (Heb.10:1)
