Topic: The Tabernacle of God 341
Scripture: But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say not of this building. (Heb 9:11)
Note: 2Cor 5:1, “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” Many people that have been transported from their dead, hopeless, horizontal lying position, having defied spiritual death and come back to life, are unfortunately and ignorantly still bound in their grave clothes. The command of Jesus to the family of Lazarus to loose him and let him go, was a call to liberation from religious, cultural and social bondages.
Grace had set us free from satanic rule and hold, that held us imprisoned in the cages of ignorance, bound by the traditions of men, legalisms, men’s philosophy and cultural inhibition. These harbingers of death and dissolution have taken over responsible positions in the Church, where they freely exercise the ministry of inhibitions and red tapes under the guise of religious control. It’s a controlling spirit that stifles growth, initiatives and liberty, leaving people bound and helpless before the very people entrusted with the authority to guide them into liberty in Christ.
Matt 15:6(b), “………So for the sake of your tradition you have made void the word of God.” Lazarus was bound head, ears, eyes, mouth and nose. His level of incapacitation never anticipated any comeback for him, although he was greatly loved. Death is terminal and irreversible. They were fully aware of that. To the family, tradition must go on. Not even the presence of Jesus and his command to roll away the stone, made logical sense to the mourning family. Traditionally, Lazarus must be stinking according to the law of death, dissolution and decomposition.
Tradition as a stronghold is no respecter of persons. Tradition has no regard for ambition and purpose. The purpose of tradition is to enforce legalism and the law. Christ’s supposedly misguided instructions to the people received an instant education on the law of corruption and decomposition. These traditionalists were tested masters and authorities in their game of resistance. The iconic status of Jesus, notwithstanding, made Him no exception to their subtle resistance and caveat, “by this time he is stinking.”
Food for thought: The perfect response to traditionalism is the demonstration of the power of God.
Declaration: Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Col 2:8
