Topic: The Tabernacle of God 367

Scripture: But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say not of this building. (Heb 9:11)

Note: 2Cor 5:1, “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” Paul found himself in an argumentative state in his mind, having to defy the realities of the present in order to rejoice in what’s traditionally known as the uncertainty of the future. Yet, his personal conviction of the witness that he had in his spirit coupled with the assurance that comes from the word of God, most especially Jesus Christ, seemed to have been based on a solid evidence and reason.

The tone of enthusiasm, excitement and fervour in the demeanour of Paul did not in any way lessen the essence of balance in his argument. At the root of a passion filled, fiery outpouring from a heart that’s so enamoured by his unforgettable personal life experience of an encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus, Paul needed no contrary evidence to substantiate what and whom he had believed in. Paul needed no other argument, for to him it’s enough that Jesus died for him. And if indeed He died for him, then there’s no much sense if He wasn’t going to come back for him, as He had promised.

Whatever Jesus promised in the word of God, He will never renege or fail concerning His word. The world lives in uncertainty concerning the future. The presence of diverse kinds of faiths with many different teachings all over our multicultural world had not done enough for humanity by way of assurance of where we shall be after death. This uncertainty had helped to create confusion and arguments concerning the life after death. The overwhelming assurance of Jesus Christ in His promise to His disciples stands out as the most emphatic promise made concerning the issue of life after death.

It’s very easy and cheap to make unvalidated promises of what’s going to happen while one is alive. Many originators of other faiths made promises expected to be fulfilled after their deaths. Unfortunately, they’re still in their graves and the promises were never fulfilled. Shockingly, many people continue to follow these failed men and their failed promises. Any intelligent person is expected to be able to take decisions based on the level of his exposure. Jesus Christ promised to die and rise up again after the third day. He fulfilled that promise when He defied death and the grave with His resurrection from the dead.

Food for thought: It’s enough evidence for me that Jesus promised to rise again from the dead after the third day, and He fulfilled His promise when He rose from the dead.

Declaration: I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Rev 22:13
