Daily Manna – February 24, 2016
Topic: The aftermath of my experience

Scripture: For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Rom 1:16)

Note: Many people out of genuine concern, really wondered whether the story of the robbery experience I shared with all yesterday in the Daily Manna was a coined up story, or that of an unknown hero somewhere located in an unknown part of the planet or whether it was really my real life experience.

For the uninitiated, the unbelieving and wondering minds, it’s the real life personal experience of Rev. Fred Aboe that occurred in the early dawn of Monday, February 22, 2016. It’s current. It’s traumatic and could have been life shattering, not just for me and the family, but for our friends and loved ones. In several ways, this horror of an experience is going to impact our lives. It could be for the better or worse. The choices that we make in the aftermath of this harrowing experience may determine the impact or otherwise, that we make in this unjust, wicked and dying world. Everything points to the fact that this world of ours is dying, not even gradually, but at a breakneck speed.

I shudder to think of what is happening to our youth. We’ve failed the next generation in this nation. Our political leaders, the leadership of the church and civil society have all failed the youth. Greed has enslaved the ruling class and lawmakers. The church which is supposed to be the salt and the light of this world is herself grossly embellished in crooked ways, unfaithfulness and devious machinations. The church has made its choice of heaven on earth, abandoning the message of the Kingdomof God, the glorious power of Gospel of Jesus Christ, and preaching heresies and self glory. May God have mercy on us.

The youth are not working. They are hungry and angry. There are no longer available jobs after completing university. The frustrations, the anger, the hunger that they are experiencing are being discharged on the perceived leadership that have failed them. There is only one cure for this conundrum in which we find ourselves: The glorious message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ which is the power of God unto salvation, which is able to bring true transformation, hope and love to our youth and a dying world.

Food for thought: For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness. (Rom 1:18)
