Topic: The empty tomb 48
Reading: Matthew 27:57-66, 28:1-15
Scripture: He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee. (Luke 24:6)
Note: Among the many obnoxious concoctions and fabrications by men and women with a clear agenda to distort the truth, confuse some people and succeed in dragging many ignorant others with them to hell on the issue concerning the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, after his brutal crucifixion on the cross, are the several hypothesis propounded by the enemies of the cross, including the vision hypothesis.
The claim to the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead has always been a big threat to believers in other faiths as well as some biblical scholars, philosophers and theologians. The resort to the usual mockery of the simplicity of Christian believers coupled with an open denigration of the records in the New Testament, are ample manifestations of the extent to which suspicion of the other, the growing animosity and visibly no love lost between the views of Christian believers and their opposite adherents.
The vision hypothesis is one of the fighting tools used as an option by those who oppose the records of the four gospel narratives. A vision from their perspective is something seen in a dream, trance or religious ecstasy, especially a supernatural appearance that usually conveys a revelation.
Visions generally have more clarity than dreams, but traditionally fewer psychological connotations. Visions are known to emerge from spiritual traditions and could provide a lens into human nature and reality. Prophecy is often associated with visions.
Food for thought: Vision is a spiritual experience that can be seen.
Declaration: And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord. And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth. And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight. (Acts 9:10-12)
