Daily Manna | Thursday, February 1, 2018 | Reading: Exodus 33:1-11, Exodus 4, Gen 3:1-21

Topic: The Tabernacle of God 346

Scripture: But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say not of this building. (Heb 9:11)

Note: 2Cor 5:1, “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” Our new life experience in the new creation reality in Christ Jesus, is not a performance based redemption. Our salvation experience is purely by grace through faith in the truth that Jesus Christ came to the earth in the flesh, born of a woman, lived among men, died on the cross, was buried and rose again from the dead on the third day. In His name we are baptised into His death and are risen together with Him in glory.

Man’s proclivity for performance based redemption is deep-rooted. It emanated from the early believers as a result of their Judo-Christian background in relation to the confusion surrounding the place of the law of Moses in their lives. Jesus didn’t come to condemn the law. He came to fulfill it, as by the shed blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purging our conscience from dead works to serve the living God (Hebrews 9:14). Yet, until His advent on earth when God walked the earth fully as man through the incarnation of Jesus Christ, all men under the law including Moses through whom the law was given to man, failed woefully before the law.

The tragedy of man’s failure under the law, was the evidence against man, that fallen man under Adam was incapable of satisfying the demands of God for the redemption and reconciliation of man back to God. This spectacular failure of man without exception to anyone under the Adamic lineage, was the iconic sign needed to trigger the fulfilment of the fullness of time for man’s redemption. God’s grace and mercy could not overlook the helplessness of man’s cry for redemption.

Gal 4:4-7, “But when the fullness of time was come, God sent forth His Son made of a woman, made under the law. To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore you are no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.” The coming of Christ was the fulfilment of God’s promise to man in the seed of the woman that shall bruise the head of the serpent. In destroying the enemy, Jesus brought with Him grace and truth (John 1:17).

Food for thought: Salvation is an act of grace through faith in Christ Jesus.

Declaration: And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; it shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel. Gen 3:15
