Topic: The Tabernacle of God 177

Scripture: But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say not of this building. (Heb 9:11)

Note: John 12:24, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” The preparedness to die, whether literally or metaphorically for the sake of the Gospel, or as a response to a call to obedience from God, is a sacrificial offering to God that has historically transformed ordinary men from situations of ordinariness to positions of significance.

Jesus Christ is the quintessential example of sacrificial offering to God. He showed the way of perfect love and obedience by His life, His deeds and death on the cross. As the Son of Man, He demonstrated the essence of significance when He literally poured out His life for the rest of humanity to the point of shedding His blood. He fully exemplified the statement that He made to the effect that “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it, and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.” Matt 16:25

The desire to live one’s life for the sake of Christ shall have his trust in the Lord tested by fire. That’s why Jesus minced no words when He stated categorically in Luke 9:23, “And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”
.
The road to greatness and significance begins with self denial as the only path to pursuing your God-given goal. God will make demands on your life that may even send you into depression. It may cost you your convenience and throw you out of your comfort zone. You may be required to operate in a terrain that’s unfamiliar and outside your personal comfort, plans and interests. But God is faithful and He will not look on unconcerned and allow His obedient children to be brought into shame. Luke 18:29-30

Food for thought: No man can beat God in giving.

Declaration: And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, there is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake, Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting. Luke 18:29-30
