Topic: The Tabernacle of God 151

Scripture: But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say not of this building. (Heb 9:11)

Note: Gen 3:7, “And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.” This was the first time ever that Adam and Eve were having an experience of what it meant to stay outside of God’s presence. It was the beginning of man’s independence outside the control of God.

Man’s first experience of life outside God after the fall was a distasteful and disappointing one. God’s presence previously clothed them. Unfortunately for Adam and Eve, their much anticipated quest for a “higher knowledge” equal to that of God, was to expose their own nakedness in an undesirable manner.

Man’s futility in his quest for deeper, hidden and higher knowledge, only succeeded in robbing him of God’s presence and glory. Man’s insatiable desire for hidden knowledge is all too familiar today. This endless curiosity is the nature of man which was inherited from Adam. This desire exhibited in the first man, Adam, is what is leading people blindly into the occult, the eclectic and whatever is hidden in darkness.

God’s desire for man is to experience fellowship in God’s presence. The original plan and purpose for man was undermined by the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden. Man, created to have dominion and to exercise right of authority and rule over the earth, suddenly finds himself disillusioned and groping helplessly to fill the emptiness or void that had been created in him when he lost his relationship with God. Man’s futile search for the truth has since found him in all the wrong places, and still searching.

Food for thought: Man on his own effort could not find God until God sent His Son to reconcile man back to Himself.

Declaration: Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6
