Topic: The empty tomb 45

Reading: Matthew 27:57-66, 28:1-15

Scripture: He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee. (Luke 24:6)

Note: The issue of the empty tomb of Christ is one of the most maligned truths not just in the history and study of biblical scholarship, but by writers of other faiths who obviously seem intimidated by the historical claims of the virgin birth of Christ, his life, teachings, healings, miracles, trial and crucifixion, death and resurrection.

The threats from Christ were understandable given the precarious position of the heavily compromised, hypocritical and ambivalent religious authorities of his era, coupled with the unbelievable and annoying claims of Christ to die and rise from the dead on the third day. The avalanche of anger from opposing forces of the religious divide, who were dubiously motivated to manage an uncommon and unlikely marriage of convenience in agreeing together in their evil desire to plot the downfall and demise of Christ, is sufficient proof of the level of hatred and passion with which men and women writers post the Jesus era, including theologians and philosophers with diverse interests, were prepared to sacrifice their own integrity and the truth of history, in order to grind out pure fantasy fiction for public consumption and readership, all in the name of historical genres.

Aware that most people are vulnerable to the curiosity and trappings of hidden, deeper and esoteric meaning of experiences in preference to so-called surface meaning of the Gospels, deceptively classified as meant for babes, the unlearned and the unsophisticated, these clever theologians who deceptively claimed their writings to be historical genres, have been systematically spewing out their fantasy fiction without any hint of historical basis or proof.

Barbara Thiering, an Australian scholar and theologian, is one notable example of a modern day critic of Christ that had metamorphosed from the old era of Jesus’ time as a chronic liar who harboured extraordinary fantasy fiction in the name of history, who falsely claimed that Jesus survived the crucifixion by a snake venom that rendered him unconscious.

Food for thought: I never knew that a snake venom could render a man unconscious on a cross and later auto-revive him spectacularly back to life, even after a spear had been used to pierce through his side drawing blood and water.

Declaration: He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth. (Isaiah 53:7)
