Topic: From the beginning it was not so 61
Scripture: He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. (Matt 19:8)
Note: “Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.” (Luke 23:34).
Anyone who premeditatedly plots your assassination, spends sleepless nights and days planning, conniving, stage managing situations to have you trapped and rejoice at your downfall, paying money to your close associate to betray your identity so that they could lay hands on you, molesting you, deriding and mocking you, shouting crucify him, coming from the highest person, the High Priest Caiaphas, chief architect of the whole sinister melodrama that eventually saw Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the Son of the living God, die a most cruel and shameful death at the hands of Gentile Roman soldiers cheered on by passionate Jewish bigotry, must certainly know what they are up to.
Inspite of the overwhelming, incriminating evidence against the religious establishment, their cohorts and their Roman rulers, whose soldiers’ avaricious greed could not extricate them from the temptation to strip Jesus Christ naked off his garment so that they could cast lots over who gets to own the garment, as he hanged painfully on the cursed, shameful cross, nails piercing through his live body with the crown of thorns piercing through Immanuel’s veins, bleeding for the sins of lost humanity, Jesus Christ could only say, Father forgive them for they don’t know what they are doing. What manner of man is this?
Food for thought: Love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all.
Declaration: For God so loved the world that He gave us His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
