Topic: From the beginning it was not so 60
Scripture: He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. (Matt 19:8)
Note: Is it not a paradox that believers have been forgiven so much by the Lord, looking at where we came from, the mess we were mired in and how far the Lord has gone to make us who we are, and yet we fail so miserably in extending the same hand of forgiveness, grace and mercy that redeemed us to others, most importantly our own spouses?
It’s amazing to have been forgiven so much yet we try to rationalise our behaviour and justify our rationale for holding others to ransom waiting for reasons that are unavailable and non existent to be given before we extend a hand of forgiveness. Many believers have become warehouses of stinking, unforgiven hurts, grudges and bitterness. Other people’s misdeeds, including our own spouses have been packed full in our warehouses to the rafters, bursting shamelessly at the seam, waiting for evacuation.
Any audit, any day, by the Lord in the warehouse of our hurts, grudges and bitterness will meet us unprepared. We have turned ourselves into victims, holding others prisoners of offence, while spending our precious time and lifetime in the same prisons that we are holding others captives.
Food for thought: Any prisoner in your heart makes you a prisoner as well.
Declaration: And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:32)
