Topic: From the beginning it was not so 59

Scripture: He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. (Matt 19:8)

Note: Church leaders and pastors’ over-dependence on goodies, worldly perks and benchmarking aspirations and standards against the standard of the world, has gradually derailed their fellowship with God, losing focus on the essential things of relationship with God, becoming wrong examples and models for their congregations, who unfortunately would be following the wrong footsteps of their leaders to their own detriment.

This over-reliance on goodies and symbols of success instead of the substance in a cherished relationship with God, has created a rat race of misdirected goals in unimaginable proportions. Most believers in churches might be found to be very active in ministry and in the service of the Lord, yet the truth is that they are best described as ‘churchians’ in the sight of God.

These internal corrosive activities happening within the body of Christ, present us with people who look good and successful to the outside world, yet dying internally in the sight of God, with the centre no longer holding and unable to sustain the pressure domestically, their marriages end up as victims, cracking shamelessly to the rest of the world.

Food for thought: You cannot hide your rotten relationship with God forever.

Declaration: And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. (Eph. 5:11)
