Topic: From the beginning it was not so 58
Scripture: He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. (Matt 19:8)
Note: The pathetic states of increasing failed marriages within christiandom, are a sad reflection of the pathetic kind of pastoral leadership provided by those who have been privileged to impart knowledge, provide guidance and serve as role models for the masses of people ailing and crying out for redemption in their marriages.
The astonishing sharp departure from what Christ stood for as regards marriage and expatiated further by the Apostle Paul in the 5th chapter of Ephesians and the 7th chapter of 1Corinthians, is a reflection of the growing selfishness, materialistic focus and inward looking attitude of the new generation of christian leaders and their proselyte followers.
Clutching to failed ideologies and the stumps of effeminate, untested wisdom of modern day philosophical principles, will only lead to predictable structural failures built upon the foundations of wobbly humanistic thinking. God’s word is time-tested. Jesus never gave up on the church. Why are husbands giving up on their marriages. Are we still believers?
Food for thought: Jesus nourished the church as his own body, sanctifying and cleansing it by the word.
Declaration: Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it. (Eph. 5:25)
