Topic: The empty tomb 11
Reading: Matthew 27:57-66, 28:1-15
Scripture: He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee. (Luke 24:6)
Note: The sudden mighty rushing wind from heaven on the day of Pentecost at a time when the 120 waiting but expectant disciples were with one accord in one place, cemented together by a supernatural unity of purpose and expectancy in the Spirit, was to witness an avalanche of God’s power in an unprecedented outpouring of the Spirit that served as a coup d’etat, a takeover, a complete shift in the spiritual atmosphere previously unknown, the birth of the church, unknown and unanticipated to the religious establishment.
This shift in the spiritual atmosphere signified the death sentence for the religious establishment that had consistently murdered all the prophets sent from God since time immemorial. They had used every man-centered orchestration backed by satanic inspiration and machinations to perpetuate treachery, corruption, deception, lies, sheer wickedness, greed and injustice to cower people into submission, coercing them into capitulation to the religious status quo.
They had used blood money to bulldoze their way through every obstacle. They bought positions and the influence they wielded in society. They bought the betrayal of Jesus. They bought his death. They even bought the truth of the empty tomb. They did all they could in their vain attempt to make the resurrection of Jesus Christ a mere pipe dream. But what they didn’t know was that it was not possible for the flesh of the Son of God to suffer corruption.
Jesus said he would build his church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. The flame that was lit on the day of Pentecost could not and cannot be extinguished by satanic or human machinations.
Food for thought: Corruption can never prevail against incorruption.
Declaration: For whoever is born of God overcomes the world and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. (1John 5:4)
