Topic: From the beginning it was not so 57

Scripture: He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. (Matt 19:8)

Note: Lack of forgiveness within the body of Christ had led to an epidemic of failed marriages, broken homes, delinquent children, depressed wives and philandering husbands, who out of desperation, arrogance and frustration, have abandoned their ordained role of leaders, inspirers and head of the family.

If only all husbands would imitate the way Christ related to the church as in Eph. 5:25, “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,” there would be minimal casualties in marriages. The diseases of separation and divorces are clear testimonies of departure or deviation from the word of God and our belief in the time-tested inerrancy of the word of God.

With pride in increased knowledge of the world systems and its nuances, the church has gradually drifted off the exemplary relationship between Christ and the church, and cleaving shamelessly to the stump of Dagon like a perilous steep slope of man-made philosophical beliefs, modern day intolerance and fleeting rationalisation. No wonder that the pillars of modern day wisdom are crumbling before the wisdom of God’s word just like the way the Philistine deity, Dagon, bowed in subservience before the ark of Jehovah. (1Sam. 5:3-4)

Food for thought: Jesus Christ is the Word, and at the mention of his name, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord indeed.

Declaration: And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the Lord; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him. (1Sam. 5:4)
